Snap, and just like that, winter wraps up, and it's full steam ahead to summer. Looking back, this was one of the longest cross country ski, snowshoe, sled, and tubing seasons that started on November 12, 2022, and continued through Memorial Day Weekend on May 29, 2023. Despite 31 atmospheric rivers, 732 inches of snow, 15 trail closure days due to blizzards, and a reduced Spring schedule, BVAC offered 161 days of groomed trails and hills. Throughout the winter, BVAC staff persevered with hard work, perseverance, good humor, and camaraderie. Regardless, everybody would welcome an "average" winter next season.
Looking ahead to summer, BVAC will have regular store offerings, bike and boat rentals, a cafe, and a bike shop. While paddling and trail adventures might seem a long way off, history proves that summer activities will return, and Bear Valley will be where you want to be, starting in early July this year.
