Sno-Parks

Cross country skiing, snowshoeing and general snow play activities are also available at the Lake Alpine, Spicer and Round Valley (closed to motorized sports) SNO-PARK areas. All SNO-PARK areas require either a day ($15) or season ($40) permit which is available to purchase at the Bear Valley Adventure Company.

Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding

Skyline Bear Valley Resort is located 5 miles up Highway 4 and has ten chairlifts and 75+ trails across 1680 acres with a 1900’ vertical drop. 25% of the trails are beginner difficulty, 40% intermediate, and 35% are advanced or higher. The Bear Valley ski area is known for its family-friendly service and terrain that satisfies all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding

California Ski Guides operates in Bear Valley, offering backcountry ski and snowboard programs, snowcat, and out-of-bound ski/board tours, including avalanche education and mountaineering classes. California Ski Guides is part of a larger company, Sierra Wilderness Seminars, that has been professionally guiding since 1981. Snowmobiling

Bear Valley Snowmobile is Northern California’s premier snowmobile destination and the only snowmobile rental operator in this breathtaking environment. Snowmobiles are staged at the USFS Sno-Parks, so there is no need to trailer or make unsafe highway crossings. For your safety, two snowmobile minimum per rental during your self-guided tour.
