A Message from Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative - 12/2/2018

We are thrilled to share the news that the Co-op, you, and all it's members are now the proud owners of Bear Valley Cross Country and Adventure Company!

We want to thank both Paul and Dianne Petersen for their commitment to building this business over the last 35+ years as well as their continued enthusiasm to moving forward. We are fortunate to be working with them to deliver the same exceptional experiences we have all come to love, as well as investing in new ways to expand services to the greater Bear Valley Community. We also share a special thanks for Chuck Toenisketter and his partners' support in helping make this a reality and their continued commitment to the business going forward.

With the recent storms offering superb early season conditions, we invite you to come up and start your winter with some XC skiing, snowshoeing, or just to say hello. The trails opened just over a week back and began daily operations yesterday, December 1st, for the first season under Co-op ownership. Please join us for the first of many "Try It and Like It Cross Country Ski Days" for beginner cross country skiers, on Sunday, December 9 at noon, with free skiing, rentals, and lessons (pre-registration is required) for current co-op members. We will also be hosting a members-only, guided nighttime ski and snowshoe event in the meadow on the evening of December 23 (pre-registration also required). Keep checking for details and additional fun events that appeal to everyone!

You can learn more about the first major initiative of the Co-op, and steer your friends and neighbors to join as well, by going to. Just before the Christmas holiday break kicks off, we will be sharing more information on the benefits associated with Co-op membership. Today the greatest benefit is that we have acquired a successful Bear Valley recreation business that is now re-committed to the greater Bear Valley Community for years to come. We thank our 400+ members for making this possible and look forward to welcoming new members so that we may continue to build on this stable platform.

We are grateful to all of you for your support which enabled us to reach this important milestone.

Onward!

Regards,

BVMC Board
