March 2023 Happenings

The winter storms keep rolling through with no end in sight. As a lifelong snowsports enthusiast, half of me says, "Bring It," while the other half says, "Whoa, Nelly." Somewhere in between is the ideal winter season with 1 foot of snow a week, not 14+ feet a week. While there are plenty of reasons to complain, there are many to be thankful. Our water storage reservoirs refill, groundwater supplies recover (a little), and the forest trees get some relief. Meanwhile, we keep shoveling, pushing, and manipulating the incoming snow. Small scoops are better than large ones.

In other news, Tom's Race is coming up on April 8th, and the Bjornloppet XC Race Weekend is rescheduled to April 15-16, 2023. In addition, stay tuned for a resurrection of the Tour de Bear Valley, which will happen in late April. For those unfamiliar, the Tour de Bear Valley occurs towards the end of the season and is about skiing as many trails as possible with no pressure of being timed. Often this event involves an early morning start to avoid the heat and wraps up with lunch at the Meadow Cafe deck. Also in the works are Apres-Ski events at the cafe in the Spring, so keep an eye on our website (bvadventures.com), Instagram (@bvadventure), and Facebook pages.

It's a winter wonderland up here!
