April 2021 Happenings

April showers might bring fresh snow, and the Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) is prepared to extend the winter skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and tubing season to Sunday, May 2nd, 2021.  Of course, this is snow and weather-dependent, but we will “give it the old college try.”  Despite below-average precipitation this winter, the snowpack is proving resilient, and we have been able to consistently keep 32 out of 36 trails open, with 50 out of 65 kilometers groomed.

While the village typically starts to slow down this time of year, BVAC ramps up with activities and events.  Starting early April and lasting through May, our 2021/2022 season passes will be on sale at the best prices of the year.  Plus, Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative members receive an additional 25% off!  For those not already a BVAC season pass holder, purchasing a 2021/2022 season pass this spring enables you to ski and snowshoe on our groomed trails for the remainder of this winter for free!

We are offering a “Try It & Like It” program each Sunday through the remainder of the season for those new to cross country skiing.  For only $60, a new skier receives a full day rental, trail pass, and 1-hour group lesson.  This program is a great way to start cross country skiing, and we think you will love it!

Get ready for the much anticipated Used Gear Sale. We are excited to pass along some lightly used skis, boots, and poles, including snowshoes, at great prices.  Also, we will have new ski equipment and winter clothing on sale to make room for incoming summer items.   The sale starts on April 9th and will continue until May 2nd.

Finally, keep an eye on our website and social media channels as Master Ski Clinics are being developed even as we write this article. We hope to offer mid-week and weekend clinics to challenge and improve intermediate and advanced cross country skiing skills.  Stay tuned and we hope to see you on our groomed trails soon!
