September 2020 Happenings

Summer is transitioning to fall, and the wildfire season has already brought some smoke to Bear Valley. So far, knock on wood, air quality has not limited the ability to get outside and have an adventure. Water levels at the lakes are starting to drop, but the water temperatures are still comfortable and refreshing. Overall this is an excellent time of year in Bear Valley.

The Bear Valley Adventure Company is already making plans for the winter season. Ski, snowshoe, and clothing orders have been finalized and even increased above historical numbers in anticipation of a few more folks discovering the thrills and beauty of cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding. Venturing onto the groomed trails is a great way to maintain healthy spacing and get some exercise while enjoying the winter landscape's beauty. If you haven't already, don't miss out on summer discounts on cross country skiing and snowshoeing season passes that expire at the end of September. Winter operations at the Bear Valley Adventure Company will likely look a little different this year as COVID-19 precautions are implemented, and we will share as we learn more. Regardless the plan is to be 100% open for all outside activities.

Ever wonder what the cross country and snowshoe trails look like before winter arrives? Mark your calendars for two upcoming XC Trail Work Parties on September 27th and October 11th. Join fellow enthusiasts to trim back branches, clear obstacles, and help get the trails ready for winter grooming. Afterward, a complimentary outdoor lunch will be served for participants while swapping tales and making predictions about the arrival of winter. Check our website (www.bvadventures.com) for details.

Last but not least, BVAC is excited to add a couple of staff to the team.  Positions range from a full-time Retail Manager to seasonal Adventure Associates.  BVAC is committed to delivering top-notch customer service and some of the best skiing in the world.  Keep in mind that we are more interested in hiring the right people than simply filling job titles.  If you think you’ve got what it takes to join a motivated team or know somebody that does, please contact us to learn more.  We love to talk about our work!

As always, the Bear Valley Adventure Company wishes good health to the extended Bear Valley community.
