July 2026 Happenings

The month of July is often a highlight of a Bear Valley summer. Whether you're escaping the heat, recreating on the numerous lakes and trails, or enjoying a concert at the Bear Valley Music Festival, our small alpine hamlet is the right place to be. While writing this article, an adventurous group departed the store on our first “Hike with a Ranger” program of the summer, focusing on wildflowers. These guided hikes are led by BVAC Assistant Store Manager, Bayleigh Bisner, who formerly worked as a National Park Ranger. If you haven’t heard already, this summer's wildflower display is spectacular, and currently, our village is blooming with gusto. If you missed it, don’t fret, there will be plenty of wildflowers at the higher elevations through July and August.

Looking ahead, our next three “Hike with a Ranger” programs are scheduled on each Sunday during the Bear Valley Music Festival. On July 19th, the focus will be on wildfires; on July 26th, on trees; and on August 2nd, on mammals. All hikes are free, family-friendly, and start at 9:30 at our store and wrap up around noon. Regardless of whether you are hiking, shopping in our store, enjoying lunch at Reba’s Toll House Cafe, or renting a mountain bike or boat, we hope that you will visit and enjoy the offerings at the Bear Valley Adventure Company this summer.

Cheers!
