May 2026 Happenings

Summer is sure taking its time to arrive. Ebbetts Pass is clear of snow, and cyclists and hikers report lovely conditions above Lake Alpine, but still, the highway is closed to vehicles. Soon enough, the wheels of summer activities will start turning, and Bear Valley will once again become one of the best places in the universe.

Several exciting things are happening at the Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC). First, we received a new fleet of bike rentals from Specialized, including both traditional and electric full-suspension mountain bikes. Several bikes in each model are for sale in the store. BVAC can also order Specialized bikes to best suit your two-wheeled needs and desires. Not looking for a new bike, our bike shop is ready to service and tune your bike to roll smoothly and efficiently. Reba’s Toll House Cafe will reopen on Thursday, May 21, serving lunch daily from 11am-3pm.

BVAC is also offering several complimentary “Hike with a Ranger” programs this summer, led by BVAC employee Bayleigh Bisner, a former National Park Ranger. Stay tuned to our website (www.bvadventures.com) for dates and details. Until then, we look forward to seeing many of you in the village and out on the trails.

Cheers!
