October 2021 Happenings

Bear Valley Adventure Company Happenings

Fall is here, and the Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) welcomes the chilly mornings and warm days.  This time of year is often the best for mountain biking, road cycling, and hiking.  Plus, fall foliage colors are just starting to show, so it’s time to hustle up to Bear Valley before winter arrives.

BVAC has already hosted two trail workdays focusing on Stables Cruise, Waterfall, Scenic Byway, and the Headwaters Trail.  These outings help us open and groom early season.  Another treat for participants is seeing trails before the snow arrives.  The folks that worked on Headwaters were impressed with the grooming required to open this trail over rugged terrain.  Fondly we refer to many of these trails as “Paul Petersen’s Wild West” as he pioneered paths where most would not dare to venture.  Thanks, Paul, for your adventurous spirit!

For many skiers and snowshoers, a pre-season tradition is picking up their season pass.  This is an exciting time and signals a countdown until the ski and snowshoe season begins. This winter BVAC is pleased to offer complimentary Swix beanie caps for the first 350  people to purchase their 2021/2022 season pass.  Summer prices for a season pass end October 31st, so make sure to buy your season pass beforehand and save a few bucks.  Season passes can also be purchased online through our website at www.bvadventures.com/cross-country-skiing.

Reba’s Toll House Café

The café is busy throughout the week, serving breakfast and lunch.  In addition to the regular menu, an unexpected bonus is the special meals created by Chef Caroline.  While we can’t predict her inspirations, it is fun and tasty when she produces dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Spicy Chorizo & Eggs, Hawaiian Pork Sliders, Chana Marsala, and Indonesian Mie Goreng, to name a few.  So, during your next visit, keep an eye out for the specials at Reba’s Toll House Café, with daily hours of 8-10:30am for breakfast and 11:30am-3pm for lunch.
