Labor Day has passed, the trails are quieter, and it's another wonderful time of year to be in Bear Valley. The aspens are still green, but you know that the colors are right around the corner. Dreams of skiing have started, and big decisions about winter equipment are looming.
Regardless, the Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) is still equipped for summer recreation, and most items in the store are discounted to make room for incoming winter supplies. Prices on cross country ski and snowshoe season passes increase at the end of September, so don't wait to lock in on a great deal.
Mark your calendars for the BVAC Trail Work Days on October 11th and 25th. These community outings are a fun and adventurous way to explore our winter trails and help prepare them for winter grooming. Duties include tree limbing and clearing, brush cutting, and covering of tree stumps and rocks. Along the way, participants will learn more about and appreciate the rugged terrain that our winter trails navigate. Afterward, enjoy a complimentary lunch and share plans for the upcoming winter season.
The Bear Valley Adventure Company is a community-owned business that was acquired in 2018 by the Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative. To learn more, please visit www.bvmcoop.com.
