The winter of 25’/26’ is a wrap! It was a short but sweet season of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and tubing. In the end, the Bear Valley Adventure Company (BVAC) was open for winter activities for 87 days, which also included a few special days of ice skating on the meadow and mountain biking on snow-groomed trails. This did not feel like a normal winter, with above-average temperatures creating high snow levels and fueling a grueling heat wave in March. In between these meteorological events, the skiing was remarkably good. In fact, many people commented that it was the best skiing in years. Investments in grooming equipment and training paid off. This was a winter of quality, not quantity.
Now we look forward to an extended summer season full of adventures. The adage that “locals came for the winter but stay for the summer” is in full effect. Soon, the highway will open over Ebbetts Pass, the trails will clear of snow, and the lakes will be both accessible and refreshing. BVAC is excited to host a new rental fleet of both traditional and electric mountain bikes, as well as a full spectrum of kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards.
Finally, our 26’/27’ Spring Season Pass Sale, featuring the best prices of the year, is running through April. Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative members receive a 20% discount, and there are no price increases for returning season pass holders. We hope that many of you are making plans for next winter, as are we. In the meantime, let summer proceed!
Cheers
