These are exciting times at the Bear Valley Adventure Company! Looking back at October, we teamed up with the Bear Valley Trail Stewardship to host the Fat Tire Festival. Nearly 50 enthusiastic riders gathered to learn, share, and celebrate the thrills of mountain biking in Bear Valley. Participant ages ranged from 6 to 61, and all enjoyed guided rides, shuttles*, meals, and shenanigans. We heard a heartwarming story after the festival that the 6-year-old took the event poster home and pinned it to his bedroom wall.
Also in October was the 1st Annual Pre-Winter Dust-Off event, where participants enjoyed educational clinics ranging from physical conditioning, ski waxing, and avalanche education. In fact, the avalanche lecture from the Nickolay Dodov Foundation filled the room to capacity. Throughout the day, people took advantage of in-store discounts, ski swap deals, season pass sales, and photos. We are pleased with people’s enthusiasm for this event and look forward to offering it again next year.
Looking ahead, we have more big announcements. First, we have a new website and encourage everybody to visit www.bvadventures.com. This project also unveils a new logo for the Bear Valley Adventure Company that will be used year-round. Of course, the old name will always roll off our tongues, but we welcome the new vision and energy the Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative brings to our company moving forward.
Just around the corner is our annual Wine Tasting in the Meadow event on Saturday November 30, 2019. Sample great wines, along with tasty appetizers at some of the most scenic areas along our cross-country trails. This event happens regardless of weather or snow conditions and advanced reservations are required. Visit our new website for more information and registration details.
Other news leading into this winter is a rejuvenation at the Meadow Café, which is a 5-minute walk (0.25 mile) from the trailhead. Guests will enjoy “alpine cuisine” that includes a traditional Après Menu on Thursday & Saturday evenings from 3:30 – 6:30 PM. Start making plans for a culinary adventure to the Meadow Café this winter!
*- A new addition to our two-wheeled offerings this Fall, are bike shuttles to popular trailheads surrounding Bear Valley. This service takes some of the work out of riding so you can enjoy more trails while pedaling back to Bear Valley.
